GENERAL CLUB RULES

General conduct and behaviour 

Members must adhere to the general rules and code of conduct set out herewith; must comply with any reasonable direction of a committee member and not do anything (or fail to do anything) which would bring the club or its committee members into ridicule or disrepute.  Section 13 of the Clubs Memorandum of Association states in part that “If any member shall wilfully refuse or neglect to comply with the provisions of the Memorandum or Articles of Association of the Club of shall be guilty of any conduct which in the opinion of the Committee is unbecoming of a member or prejudicial to the interests of the Club, the Committee shall have the power to expel that member from the Club…”

 

Safety

The club is serious about the safety of its members and anyone else that visits the airfield.  All activities are to be conducted with safety as the highest priority.  All activities are to conform with the rules & regulations that govern aviation in Australia.  The club’s Safety Risk Management Plan documents roles and responsibilities of the club committee, club members and other users of the airfield, and outlines processes for managing safety risks.  Safety risks and controls and documented in the Safety Risk Register.  All users of the airfield including members and visitors must complete a Site Safety Induction unless they are accompanied and supervised by someone who has completed the safety induction.

Good Airmanship and Flying Neighbourly

Members and visiting pilots are expected to display a high standard of airmanship at all times and adhere strongly to principal of flying neighbourly in order to preserve the good standing of the airfield, the club and its members within the local community.  Unless provided with prior approval of the committee, all training activity by non-members is strictly prohibited and club members are requested not to conduct more than four circuits at time.

 

​Indemnification of the club and committee

To the extent permitted by law, members must continually indemnify the club and its committee members against any claim or proceeding that is made, threatened or commenced against the club and/or its committee members as a direct or indirect result of any act or omission by any member.

Public liability insurance

Any aircraft operating at the airfield must be covered by a current public liability insurance policy.
 

Vehicle movements

Do not drive across the runway or runup bay.
All vehicle access to and from hangars is via the western end, behind the 06 runway threshold.  Maximum speed 20km/h.  Keep to the grass verge.  Avoid driving on the gravel unless the grass is too wet.  
This is necessary for safety, and to keep the runway surface clear of gravel.
If you grant access to any visitors or contractors, you must ensure they comply with these rules.

Gates & locks

The inside gate must be left closed at all times. If no member is present at the airfield both the inside and outside gates must be closed and locked.  If there are cars in the car park but no members at the hangars, please lock the outside gate (i.e. lock the cars in).  Please ensure the locks are re-installed correctly (i.e. in a manner that they can be easily accessed by other members … not upside-down or back- the- front.  Padlocks must not be left hanging open.

Clubhouse and other facilities

Members are expected to treat the club's facilities with care and respect.  The clubhouse & bathrooms should be left as clean or cleaner than you found them. Any cleaning or maintenance items required should be brought to the attention of a committee member.   The club's garbage bins are to be used for club functions only.  Members are requested not to deposit excessive amounts of rubbish from their hangars.

Fuel for non-member aircraft

If a member wishes to assist a non-member by providing fuel, the fuel must be 'booked out' and charged to that member.  The club will not sell fuel directly to non-members without prior written approval of the committee.

Visiting aircraft hangared or parked temporarily

If a club member offers temporary hangarage to a non-member, a non-financial member or an Associate Member there will be no club parking fees payable for the first 7 nights.  Beyond the first week and up to a maximum of 12 weeks a fee of $10 per night will be payable to the club by the owner of the hangar in which the aircraft is parked.   An owner or part owner of any aircraft hangared at the airfield for more than 12 weeks must be a full flying member of the club.  If a Member parks their aircraft outside of a hangar, the first 7 nights are free but a fee of $10 per night will be payable thereafter.

Late payment charges

Late payment charges of $55 per month or part thereof apply to any fees that remain outstanding for more than 90 days from date of invoice.

Probationary period

All new memberships are subject to a 'minimum' of 12 months probation period. During the probation period, membership can be terminated by the club's committee without notice and without refund of any fees paid.  A membership remains probationary until confirmed in writing by the club secretary.  A probationary member may not purchase or enter into any agreement to purchase a hangar at the airfield.

Hangar Transfers

All hangar owners and/or part owners must hold full flying club memberships.  All hangar ownership (including part ownership) transfers must be pre-approved in writing by the club committee.  A transfer fee of $3025 (including gst) is payable to the club for any hangar transfer.

Hangar modifications

Any and all hangar modifications must be approved in writing by the club committee and may require council development application approval.

Confidentiality

Internal club information such as Financial Reports and Minutes of the Annual General Meetings must be treated by all members as strictly confidential.
